Council members approved two changes that will affect city employees in the coming weeks. Changes to the city’s working hours and the pay period came unanimously during the February session.

New employee hours were set from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch time, shifting from a 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour lunch.

Employees will now also be paid weekly instead of twice a month with the council’s approval. Norman said the change came by the request of several employees.

Councilman Kevin Prewett asked that a time clock system be put in place and employees be required to turn in time cards on a weekly basis.
