Polk County Sheriff’s Cpl. Kevin Chandler completes class for training certification
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Aug. 31 that Cpl. Kevin Chandlers successfully completed the POST Instructor Training Course at North Central Law Enforcement Training Academy.
This intensive threeweek long course is designed for the Law Enforcement Officer who instructs in performance oriented training and is responsible for lesson plan development. Topics range from instructor liability and lesson plan design, to testing and evaluation of learning.
During the course, each student writes an original lesson plan on an approved public safety topic and develops the presentation skills necessary to deliver that lesson which they present to a board for evaluation.

“The skills learned in this course will greatly benefit both our agency and our community,” the release stated.
