Polk County Sher­iff’s Cpl. Kevin Chan­dler com­pletes class for train­ing cer­ti­fi­ca­tion

The Polk County Sher­iff’s Of­fice an­nounced on Aug. 31 that Cpl. Kevin Chan­dlers suc­cess­fully com­pleted the POST In­struc­tor Train­ing Course at North Cen­tral Law En­force­ment Train­ing Academy.

This in­ten­sive three­week long course is de­signed for the Law En­force­ment Of­fi­cer who in­structs in per­for­mance ori­ented train­ing and is re­spon­si­ble for les­son plan devel­op­ment. Top­ics range from in­struc­tor li­a­bil­ity and les­son plan de­sign, to test­ing and eval­u­a­tion of learn­ing.

Dur­ing the course, each stu­dent writes an orig­i­nal les­son plan on an ap­proved pub­lic safety topic and de­vel­ops the pre­sen­ta­tion skills nec­es­sary to de­liver that les­son which they present to a board for eval­u­a­tion.

Chan­dler has been ac­tive in Law En­force­ment since 2004 and serves as a road su­per­vi­sor for the Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

“The skills learned in this course will greatly ben­e­fit both our agency and our com­mu­nity,” the re­lease stated.
