One killed, one injured in wreck on Highway 27 south of Cedartown
One person was killed and another hospitalized in a wreck south of Cedartown late last week, according to Georgia State Patrol officials.
Their press office released that Daniel Lee Clackum, 29, of Cedartown was killed and Allen Dale Dostart, 28, of Cedartown was injured and taken to Floyd Medical Center by Redmond EMS after the pair, traveling southbound in the left lane in a black GMC pickup truck, struck a dump truck that changed lanes in front of them on Sept. 9 around 6:40 a.m.
Clackum was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:20 a.m. according to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier.
The driver of the dump truck Jeffery David McCray, 59, of Buchanan, was uninjured.
According to the press office’s statement, the Georgia State Patrol’s Special Collision Reconstruction Team is still investigating the morning wreck.
