At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, Rev. Charles Dyer from Happy Valley Church in Villa Rica
Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., Rev. Justin Carter, pastor of Bellview Baptist Church
Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m., Rev. Mark Purser, pastor of New Prospect Baptist in Lindale.
Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m., Rev. Todd Jones, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Chapel in Waco
The public is invited to attend these services.
The grand opening of Playful Parties and Events, 512 E. Gibson St. in Cedartown will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.
It is open to the public with an invitation to come see the space, let the kids play and book your child’s next party. Refreshments will be served and items will be given away.
Rockmart American Legion Post 12 has announced the following:
New members ( Legion and Auxiliary) are invited to attend the regular meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each second Tuesday.
The public is invited to all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. The Legion Riders gather for a meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each fourth Tuesday.
On Oct. 8, 2016, the Ladies Auxiliary will host a public indoor yard sale. Tables will be for rent at $10. Donations will be accepted.
The annual Halloween costume party begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28.
Family day will be held on Nov. 12 and the annual Legion Riders steak dinner is scheduled on December 10 with a New Year’s Eve Party scheduled on December 31. The public is invited and tickets are available at Post 12.
The Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors plans to meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at One Door Polk, 424 N. Main St. in Cedartown.
Celebrate Recovery continues to meet in the First Baptist Church of Rockmart, 311 E. Elm St., Monday nights with dinner at 6 p.m. A large group gathers at 7 p.m. and small share group at 8:00 p.m.
The annual Veterans Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at historic Van Wert Church and Cemetery, located at 100 Church St. in Van Wert near Rockmart.
The Euharlee Valley Historical Society uses re-enactors to pay tribute to the many military veterans who were laid to rest in the church cemetery. In addition to Civil War-era graves, the cemetery also is the final resting place of veterans of the first and second world wars and other conflicts.
The 2016 Fiddlin’ Fest Between the Rivers is a bluegrass street festival in Downtown Rome. It will feature classical sounds of bluegrass music from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016.

Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group in Polk meets the first Monday of each month at First Baptist Church of Rockmart, 311 E. Elm Street. The facilitator is April Williams. For more information about this group, call April Williams at 770-546-5188.
The Sit N’Stitch craft group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rockmart First United Methodist Church, 135 West Church Street, Rockmart GA 30153.
All crafters are welcome to come and work on your own projects or help out with various local mission projects, as they become needed. Bring a sack lunch or just come when you want and leave as you need to.

This will be the first time the lodge has ever hosted this kind of event.
The State of Community address will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25, 2016 at In the Woods, 2173 Cartersville Highway, Rockmart. Doors open at 5 p.m. $25 per person~ heavy hors d’oeuvre
Downtown Cedartown Trick or Treat will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. October 31, 2016. The costume contest will begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of Courthouse No. 2.
The 39th annual Fall Festival will be held in Downtown Cedartown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 1, 2016.
The Kiwanis 5K begins at 8 a.m. at the Welcome Center on the Silver Comet Trail. The Shriner’s Parade starts at 10 a.m. and the Cedartown Humane Society Dog Show begins at 11 a.m. in front of the park at the corner of Main and East Ware Street.
There will be many art and craft vendors to shop with and a variety of food vendors to choose from. The local merchants will be open, as well.
The local vegetable market opened at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in Peek Park in Cedartown. The market will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Friday or until the vegetables is sold.
The local Board of Elections has announced meetings in 2016 will follow this schedule: October 11, 10 a.m. November 14 and 3 p.m. December 9.
These meetings will be held in the Elections Office Conference Room, 144 W. Ave., Suite D, in Cedartown.
Polk County Board of Health has announced its 2016 meeting schedule in the Polk County Health Department, 125 E. Ware St., Cedartown: Nov. 10, 2016.
Polk / Haralson Christian Life Center (Camp Antioch) continues a summer and fall schedule of events for adults and children.

Soup and “Savior”, a local non-profit organization, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to provide needed items to deserving people.
This includes a free meal (soup), clothing and gives other assistance. Meetings are held at Glad Tidings, located at 703 Robert L Parks Blvd in Cedartown. Donations are accepted.
“Revival Fire” is the title of a presentation by Charles G. Garrett, which is featured on Charter Channel 181 at 9 p.m. every Sunday night. He said this is his 17th year in Polk County.
