Lady Bulldogs bring home gold from Columbus

-

The Cedartown Varsity Competition Cheerleaders brought home another first place finish from Columbus State University’s Pam Carter Cheer Invitational over the weekend on Oct. 8.

Head coach Brigitte Tillery said the squad executed the two and one half minute routine that was the best of the season with few mistakes.

“They rocked the gym this week and I am excited and extremely proud of their performance,” she said.

Tillery said there have been several problem areas in stunting and tumbling over the past few weeks that the team was resolved to fix in practice last week, and they seemed to have worked through the issues this week and execute the skills much better, Tillery said.

Coach Hillary Ruff added that “improving our overall score each week is a goal we set and they reached this goal this week with an increase on the score sheet in several areas.”

The squad will be competing this coming weekend at Peachtree Ridge High School in the afternoon.

They will work over fall break to once again try to increase the score and perform an improved routine next weekend, Tillery said.

This marks the latest win of the season for the Lady Bulldogs cheer team, who have won varsity competitions at the University of West Georgia on Sept. 24, and a win at the Pepperell High School compeittion as well on Sept. 17.
