Other events ongoing at Camp Antioch
Camp Antioch Student Study Center is open on Mondays and Tuesdays during the school year from 4:30-6pm (we follow Polk School District calendar for holiday and weather related closings). Free wifi (bring your own ipads, laptops, etc.), plenty of study areas, and volunteer “homework helpers” and math tutor (call 770-846-7760 ahead to arrange for homework helpers or math tutor). Adult volunteers are needed and must pass a required criminal background check.
B.A.S.I.C. “Brothers and Sisters in Christ” Community Youth Choir is for any 5th grade through college student who would like to sing Christian music. BASIC currently meets the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-noon at Camp Antioch. Mrs. Rita Carter from Rockmart FBC is the director and music teacher.
Students learn to sing parts, conduct music, and plan musical worship using a variety of contemporary praise and worship songs as well as traditional hymns. It is our hope that students will take these skills with them to strengthen the musical worship in their churches. Last year this group sang at a number of church and community gatherings. This group plans to attend “Reelfest”, the Georgia Baptist State Youth Music Festival in January. Call 770-846-7760 if interested or to check practice schedule.
Community Children’s Music Club for preschool through elementary children will begin meeting monthly this fall at Camp Antioch. Please call 770-846-7760 if interested and to find out starting date and time!
