Pic­nic ta­bles and grills pur­chased

After months of wait­ing for an orig­i­nal or­der to be filled, Pub­lic Works Su­per­in­ten­dent Daniel John­son fi­nally got tired of wait­ing and de­cided to do some­thing about getting lo­cal parks some new grills and pic­nic ta­bles.

The Aragon City Coun­cil agreed and al­lowed John­son to move for­ward in a 2-0 vote to move for­ward on a bid. Pa­per­work on the bids was not im­me­di­ately avail­able in doc­u­ments pro­vided by the City of Aragon to the Stan­dard Jour­nal fol­low­ing their Oct. 20 meet­ing. Funds are be­ing spent out of 2008 Spe­cial Pur­pose, Lo­cal Op­tion Sales Tax funds set aside for recre­ation.

New lifts for the trash truck for the city were also ap­proved unan­i­mously.

A sec­ond read­ing and ap­proval of mill pond rules was also un­der­taken as part of old busi­ness on the agenda, lay­ing down in City of Aragon’s or­di­nances ex­actly what is al­lowed at the mill pond. Go on­line to this story for a full list.
