Cedartown Supper Club will meet Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cedartown Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 71 Woodall Road.

The Jefferson Southern Corporatio­n 5K Zombie Dash Fun Run is coming to Rockmart on Oct. 29, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. The run, being held on the company property at 1000 Marquette Road, will feature a 1K run walk to start at 9 a.m., and the 5K run to start at 9:30 a.m. Race packet handouts begin at 8 a.m. on race day. A costume contest, awards for top finishers, and more are part of the event.

Registrati­on is $20 per person, $10 for children under 10 for the 5K, $10 per entry ($5 for children under 10) for the 1K event.

The Cedartown High School Class of 1996 will be gathering for their reunion on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Meadow Lakes Bar and Grill, 383 Adams Road, Cedartown. The final night of the Taylorsvil­le Baptist Church Fall Revival begins Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Services were also set to be held Tuesday night, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Dr. Brent Davis of Heritage Baptist Church, Calhoun, delivers nightly messages. Rockmart American Legion Post 12 has announced the fol-lowing:

New members ( Legion and Auxiliary) are invited to attend the regular meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each second Tuesday.

The public is invited to all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month. The Legion Riders gather for a meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each fourth Tuesday.

The annual Halloween costume party begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28.

Family day will be held on Nov. 12 and the annual Legion Riders steak dinner is scheduled on December 10 with a New Year’s Eve Party scheduled on December 31. The public is invited and tickets are available at Post 12.

The Sit N' Stitch craft group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rockmart First United Methodist Church, 135 West Church Street, Rockmart GA 30153.

All crafters are welcome to come and work on your own projects or help out with various local mission projects, as they become needed. Bring a sack lunch or just come when you want and leave as you need to.

Caledonia Masonic Lodge at 932 North Main Street will be holding a Halloween Trunk or Treat from 5 to 8 p.m. October 31, 2016.

This will be the first time the lodge has ever hosted this kind of event.

Downtown Cedartown Trick or Treat will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. October 31, 2016. The costume contest will begin at 5:30 p.m. in front of Courthouse No. 2. The pet costume contest will follow immediatel­y after.

Cedartown’s vegetable market in Peek Park is open from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Friday or until the vegetables are sold out.

On Nov. 1, 2016, Tallatoona CAP will begin accepting appointmen­ts for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Senior Households 65 and older and Homebound Households.

Appointmen­ts for the General Public will be accepted beginning Dec. 1, 2016. Appointmen­ts are provided on a first come first served basis until funds are exhausted.

Polk County residents who qualify will receive either $310.00 or $350.00 toward their heating bill (heating source).

Soup and “Savior”, a local non-profit organizati­on, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to provide needed items to deserving people. This includes a free meal (soup), clothing and gives other assistance. Meetings are held at Glad Tidings, located at 703 Robert L Parks Blvd in Cedartown. Donations are accepted.

“Revival Fire” is the title of a presentati­on by Charles G. Garrett, which is featured on Charter Channel 181 at 9 p.m. every Sunday night. He said this is his 17th year in Polk Coun-ty.
