The next monthly spaghetti dinner at American Legion Post 12 is being held on Feb. 15 at a new time from 5 to 7 p.m., and includes spaghetti, meatballs, garlic toast and salad for $5, and is open to the public. New members are invited to attend the regular meeting and dinner at 7 p.m. each second Tuesday. The Legion Riders gather at 7 p.m. each fourth Tuesday.

The Cedartown Sole Mates will be providing free Introducto­ry Line Dance classes for the anyone in the community who would like to learn to line dance on Mondays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Senior Center in Bert Woods Park, 6 0 5 Lynton Drive in Cedartown. The Rockmart Farmers Market continued their winter season every Thursday this month. Check out the website Rockmartfa­rmersmarke­t.com for more informatio­n on vendors for the coming event. They’re open on Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m. through the beginning of April.

The Live Oak Baptist Church will be hosting a Pinto Bean fundraiser this weekend on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall at 150 Live Oak Road, Aragon. Proceeds from the evening will go toward funding their Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry’s shipping costs. Menu includes pinto beans, lima beans, navy beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, slaw, onion and desserts. Turn besides Bartons Store on Highway 101 to find the church.

Cedartown Supper Club every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6: 30 pm. Held at 71 Woodall Rd. Seventh-day Adventist Church. Enjoy a vegetarian supper and participat­e in a lecture on healthy, happy living. Free and for all ages. Each evening provides a different menu and lecture topic. The Polk County Black History Parade Committee will have our fourth Annual Black History Parade on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2017, at 12 p.m. In the events of inclement weather, the make-up date is Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at 12 p.m. This is an annual event occurring each year on the third Saturday of February. This year’s parade will take place in Downtown Main Street, Cedartown. The parade route will begin at the intersecti­on of Main Street and Marietta Street and will terminate at Wendy’s parking lot. The Sit N’ Stitch craft group meets each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Rockmart First United Methodist Church, 135 West Church Street, Rockmart, Ga., 30153. All crafters are welcome to come and work on your own projects or help out with various local mission projects, as they become needed. On Nov. 1 Tallatoona CAP began accepting appointmen­ts for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Pro-gram (LIHEAP) for Senior Households 65 and older and Homebound Households. Appointmen­ts for the General Public will be accepted beginning Dec. 1, 2016. Appointmen­ts are provided on a first come first served basis until funds are exhausted. Polk County residents who qualify will receive either $310.00 or $350.00 toward their heating bill (heating source). Soup and “Savior”, a local non- profit organizati­on, meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays to provide needed items to deserving people. This includes a free meal (soup), clothing and gives other assistance. Meetings are held at Glad Tidings, located at 703 Robert L Parks Blvd in Cedartown. Donations are accepted.

Lutheran Services of Georgia’s Heritage Adoption Program partners with DFCS to find Forever Families for children waiting in Georgia’s foster care system. Informatio­n Sessions are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Northwest Georgia office in Rome, located at 336 Broad Street.
