The Polk County Board of Education is set to meet for their community input session on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room located at the Polk School District Central Office in downtown Cedartown at 612 S. College St. for their work session. They’ll hold their regular session on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Central Office.

The Polk County Board of Elections is holding their next meeting on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Elections and Registration office at the Polk County administration offices at 144 West Ave., Cedartown. In the Jan. 25, 2017 edition of the Standard Journal on Page A1 in a story titled “No action taken by BOE,” the story contained some information we wish to clarify. In that story, Hal Floyd and J.P. Foster should have been noted to say they only confirmed that a personnel investigation was ongoing, but never specified any further information.
