Helping to prevent missing children
Members of Davitte Lodge 513, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Polk County Police Department volunteer their time over the weekend in an annual event on Jan. 28 to register children of the Polk School District in the CHIP program, a Masonic-based child indentification program that registers youth in an area to help prevent missing children from being left unfound. According to organizers, the event added 75 children to the CHIP program, which gives law enforcement information on DNA and scent, a full color photo of children in the program, fingerprints and identifying information about each child.
