Cedartown boys have chance at state

- From staff reports

The region tournament is well underway for the Cedartown Bulldogs as the regular season has wrapped up for the boys and girls basketball teams.

With the tournament starting on Monday after press time and the regular season now at an end, the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs are looking to chances to keep their seasons alive this week in region play and head to the state championships.

This comes after a last week of mixed results for the boys team against the final two region foes of the season with a loss to Sandy Creek early in the week, and a win over Chapel Hill on the road to finish off the regular season.

Cedartown’s boys played a 67-44 loss on senior night against Sandy Creek at home to start the week on Jan. 31, then picked up an overtime win over Chapel Hill in a 55-52 win to retain their spot in the fifth spot for the region, tied with a 4-8 region record with Troup County.
