Several Rockmart players going to state

The Rockmart Yellow Jackets are sending several wrestlers to state after sectionals were held at the school for Class AA over the weekend.

Truett Bowman of Rockmart took second place in the 120 pound weight class, AJ Streetman took second in the 132 pound weight class, Zoryan Hendricks in the 138 pound weight class took second, Griffin Pace took fifth in the 152 pound wieght division, and Deacon Allen took sixth in the 285 pound weight class.

That followed on the heels of the Area tournament in late January where Streetman, Hendricks and Bowman all took area championships on Jan. 28. Nicholas Swan took fifth place in the 106 pound weight division, Pace third place, Corey Blackmon a third place spot in the 182 pound weight division and Allen a fourth place spot.

Wrestlers head to state traditionals starting on Thursday through Saturday for the finals in Class AA in Macon.
