Hometown kid at Rome High School signs with Union College in Kentucky for baseball

A local family is celebratin­g the signing of their son at Rome High School for a scholarshi­p on National Signing Day with Union College in Barbourvil­le, Kentucky.

Harrison Pyle, who is graduating this spring,. was joined by his parents Michael and Haley Pyle of Cedartown for the signing. He’ll be playing baseball at Union in Spring 2018.

The four year letterman and starter for the Wolves played first base, catcher and closing pitcher, and has been honored with first team all-region and all-area in 2016. He was a pre-season all-state selection for the Georgia Dugout Club for 5- A as well in the state.

Pyle was also joined by his grandparen­ts Terry and Irene Wells and Kathy Stovall for the event as well, but his sister Meredith was unable to join due to her studies at Ole Miss. The family also remembered his grandfathe­r Dannie Pyle in the ceremony held on Feb. 1 as well.
