Congratulations to new West Georgia Young Lawyers’ Association
To the Editor: On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend congratulations to the officers and members of the newly formed West Georgia Young Lawyers’ Association on the group’s successful affiliation with the State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division.
Members of the associa- tion include attorneys from Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Paulding and Polk counties who are 40 years or younger or have been practicing lawfor less than 10 years. We further salute Matthew Momtahan of the Momtahan Law Firm in Dallas and Villa Rica, who is serving as the group’s interim president, and John T. Overock- er of the Coweta Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Carrollton, interim secretary, for their leadership in these early stages of affiliation.
The Young Lawyers Division has long been considered the “service arm” of the State Bar of Georgia. We commend our West Georgia colleagues and wish them well in their efforts to promote the betterment of the legal profession and the community at large through service to the public and the justice system.
Sincerely, Patrick T. O’Connor President, State
Bar of Georgia
