Cedartown First UMC’s Methodist Women’s yard sale to start Friday

- From staff reports

The Cedartown United Methodist Church is set to hold their annual yard sale for the United Methodist Women coming up on Friday and Saturday.

Proceeds from the yard sale go to help fund mission efforts throughout the coming year in a variety of ways, according to Ellen Hester, who is president of the United Methodist Women.

The sale will start Friday morning from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and then Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Prices on the items are firm until late in the day on Saturday, Hester said, in order to help make as much money as possible to help for the church’s variety of local and global efforts to help those in need. After the lunch hour during the second day of the sale, items will be marked down to half off, and then a bag sale will be held from 2 to 3 p.m.

The group specifically needs help with getting items to sell ahead of the upcoming event, and they are asking that donations be dropped off the fellowship hall at First Methodist Church between 8 a.m. and noon on weekdays, or by appointment.

The market itself will take place in the fellowship hall as well, located at the rear of the Education building between College and Bradford streets.

A bake sale will also be set up under a tent in the church parking lot during the two-day yard sale as well.

Call Hester at 770-748-7488 for more information how to donate or get involved in the United Methodist Women locally.
