Drug Task Force nets five arrests, big seizure of drugs and guns.

Five individual­s were arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple drug violations after a lengthy investigat­ion by the Polk County Drug Task Force.

Those arrested include: Corey Alonza Almon, Katorious McConica Williams, Trintis Dewayne Hodges, Malik Daquan Hodges and Hunter Baulding-Woods.

Task force agents obtained a search warrant for 312 Pearl St., Rockmart. During the August 30 search of the residence and the surroundin­g area, agents discovered approximat­ely 2.5 pounds of marijuana and more than a halfpound of cocaine. Portions of both the marijuana and the cocaine were packaged for resale, agents noted.

Approximat­ely one ounce of ecstasy tablets, numerous schedule II and schedule IV prescripti­on pills and numerous digital scales were discovered. In addition, agents found what appeared to be heroin during the search.

In addition, four handguns were located —one of which was reported stolen out of Floyd County — a shotgun, numerous rounds of ammunition, various surveillan­ce cameras and approximat­ely $4,000 in counterfei­t $100-dollar bills were found.

Individual­s arrested were charged with the following: traffickin­g cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to purchase, possession of marijuana more than one ounce, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II narcotics, possession of schedule II narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of Schedule IV narcotics with intent to distribute, possession of firearms during commission of a crime, possession of ecstasy, possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute, forgery first degree, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and theft by receiving.

Additional arrests and charges are expected as the investigat­ion continues.
