Both teams are at a crossroads in mid- September and looking for positive gains after going through their own ups and downs thus far.

Just last week, the Lady Bulldogs picked up a much needed 2-1 win and gained some traction on the road at Central Carroll, but were unable to hold onto that momentum with a 2-0 loss to Pickens County.

Despite that, it’s the improvement that coach Elisa Prewett hoped to see out of the team going into last week’s matches.

It’s a start, and one that after Thursday’s matchup Prewett and the Lady Bull- dogs hope to hold onto.

They’ve got a chance to pick up a few more wins as the season winds down before September hits with trips ahead to Chapel Hill for a round robin with the Lady Panthers and Central again on Sept. 19 following a day hosting Sandy Creek and LaGrange on Tuesday after press time.

They also play in the Carrolton tournament on Sept. 23, and finish off the season later in the month against Troup County and Armuchee.

Meanwhile, Rockmart has Pepperell and Model coming up for Senior night on Sept. 19, followed by a trip to Heritage to play the Lady Generals and Coahulla Creek on Sept. 21. The Lady Jackets finish the regular season with matchups on the road against Coosa an d Lakeview- Fort Oglethorpe on Sept. 26.

In recent days, Rockmart dropped games against Armuchee and Gordon Central, and had also played against Woodland and North Paulding.

They were expected to travel to play Chattooga and Dade County on Tuesday, pending the weather forecast.
