Holiday Gift Shop open at Rockmart Art Gallery

- SJ Correspondent

Holiday shopping just got one step easier thanks to The Rockmart Cultural Arts Center Holiday Gift Shop offering handcrafted items directly from the gallery’s location at 316 N. Piedmont Avenue.

The holiday shop is open alongside the gallery, giving customers opportunities to nab gifts on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop has been open since Oct. 23 and will continue selling through Dec. 16.

While the shop is called the Holiday Gift Shop, customers can expect to find many kinds of artisan crafts, and it isn’t limited to the just the coming winter holidays.

Paintings, hats, pottery, utensils, and décor are just a few of the goods that line the store’s tables.

“Whether you are looking for practical, quaint, decorative, o r j ust unique, you’ll love the variety of gifts in our shop,” Cultural Arts Center staff James Hill said.

Getting original crafts by nearby artist makes the gallery a worthwhile visit, but the holiday shop has an added bonus in that the artist gets the large portion of sales profit.

The arts center is simply supplying a venue for the artists to sell their creations to the locals who want them.

“The artist gets the larger portion of the sales, but the gallery keeps a small portion, not for profit really, but just to help keep the place running,” Hill said.

The holiday gift shop is a recurring tradition at the gallery.

The art gallery will be hosting a special open house event on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
