Rockmart teams building a big season
The Rockmart boys and girls started off the new year back on the road last week, and there was some good and bad news for the pair of teams.
On the one hand, the Rockmart boys are keeping up with the rest of the competition, ending their week before school starts back from winter break with a 9-5 record, going 3-2 in the region and having won over their last two games of the week.
The Lady Jackets on the other hand only had one big struggle last week in the form of the Model Lady Blue Devils, picking up a road win at the start of the week, and a close one against Adairsville to end at 10- 4 at press time as well.
Here’s a rundown of how the week went for the boys and girls:

The top three scores for the Friday night win saw Juke Boozer with 14 points, Ty Floyd with 11 points, and Logan Burge with 15 points.
Head Coach Steve Luke gave some comments on the jackets performance and gave mention to players such as Chandler Cooper for coming in and doing well.
He “maybe played too much on JV,” Luke said.
Floyd was also given mention for having a big game along with all the guards who played tonight.
“We are trying to piece things together; we are still a young team in process,” Luke said. “But we had some moments we did very well and some moments that was not so good.”
