Pets of the Week

-

The holidays are approaching, and though it might seem like a good idea to get a kitten or puppy from a pet sore for a loved one, there are plenty of furry friends who need forever homes right now from Polk County Animal Control. For instance, take this week’s Cat of the Week, ID No. 40068938. This 12-week old dilute calico kitten that volunteers have called Barbie is just as friendly and playful as any kitten from the pet store, and is already received kitten vaccines. She’s reported to be a playful one, so perfect for a young boy or girl asking for a kitten for under the tree. Or consider a pup like Cupid, who though fully grown is perfect for that adult who needs a companion during the winter season. This 70-pound retriever mix already has his distemper and Parvo vaccine, and appears to be neutered. Volunteers report him to be friendly and walking well on a leash, even sitting when asked. He can be found at Animal Control as ID No. 40057031. Find these and more at the shelter in Cedartown by calling 770-749-8908 for more information. Rates are $25 for cats, and dogs are $40 to adopt. Spay and neutering are required by county ordinance. Check out the CedartownPolk County Humane Society’s help with providing low cost options coming up next Wednesday, Dec. 5.
