STEVENSVILLE — Lor­raine M. Sokal of Stevensville, Md., passed away on Dec. 2, 2018, at White­wood As­sisted Liv­ing in Gra­sonville, Md. She was 90.

Born on Oct. 3, 1928, to the late Daniel and Bessie Martin, she grew up in Nanty Glo, Pa. In 1949, she mar­ried her child­hood sweet­heart, Ni­cholas Sokal Jr., and they resided in Chev­erly, Md., un­til mov­ing to Stevensville, Md., in 1975. Lor­raine was a mem­ber of the Kent Is­land United Methodist Church.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Donna Ballinger; brother, Leo Martin; sis­ter, Sarah Jane Martin; grand­daugh­ters, Ni­cole Rus­cav­age (Ja­son), Stacey Deighan (Dave); and three great-grand­chil­dren, Aidan Ni­cholas, Pay­ton Leigh and Ava Rose. Lor­raine was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Ni­cholas Sokal Jr.; daugh­ter, Joyce Sokal; two brothers; and one sis­ter.

A grave­side ser­vice will be held at the Mary­land Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery in Crownsville, Md., on Fri­day, Dec. 7, at 10:45 a.m.
