Editor’s Note: Egg on our face

The Star Democrat - - OPINION -

And not just an egg or two, but a whole 18-pack.

In Wednesday’s edition, The Star Democrat erroneously printed the Thursday comics and puzzles.

The wrong file was grabbed when the page was designed, and the mistake was not caught in the proofreading process.

To rectify that mistake, the comics and puzzles page for Thursday’s edition was personally changed by this editor to include the missing Wednesday comics and puzzles. I even had a notice put on the front page to that effect.

Much to my dismay, Thursday’s edition contained a repeat of the Thursday comics and puzzles that already had appeared in the Wednesday edition.

As best I can puzzle out, my changes to the Thursday comics page did not save in our computer system and the version of the page that was not corrected was printed.

Those Wednesday comics and puzzles are now being printed on page B4 of today’s edition, alongside the usual Friday comics, which are on B5.

We apologize for the feeling of deja vu and the inconvenience to all those who enjoy the daily comics and puzzles. JOHN GRIEP
