Christmas spirit comes to Vienna

VIENNA — Crowds enjoyed more than 60 entries in the second Vienna Christmas Parade on Saturday night, Nov. 27.

Grand Marshal Liz Tyler presided over the festivitie­s. Christmas Star Award (judges’ choice) was won by Dorchester Dumpin’, and the Elfin Magic Award for best appearing entry with children went to Windy Way Horses.

The Rudolph Award for best appearing fire department went to Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company, and the Holiday Spirit Award for the entry with most Christmas spirit was given to Helgason Farms.

The Jingle Bells Award for best appearing musical entry was awarded to Susan Donoghue & Co., and the Clark W. Griswold for best commercial entry was earned by K&T Utilities.

The Santa’s Little Helpers Award for best non-commercial entry went to the Reids and McFarlane families’ Snoopy’s House Golf Cart, and the Tin Soldier Award for best on foot group was earned by the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Color Guard.

The Santa’s Sleigh Award for entry for best car or truck went to Jimmy McFarlane’s white Corvette with lights, and the Mrs. Claus Award for best hometown entry was awarded to Vienna Elementary School.
