Scholarshi­p fund raffle winner announced

EASTON — Delmarva Chapter 570 Military Order of the Purple Heart announces the winner of its scholarshi­p fund raffle.

The Chapter 570 raffle, held to raise money for the scholarshi­p fund, was won Dec. 14 by local resident Bud Loscomb. The raffle featured five gift certificat­es worth $50 each to local restaurant­s, generously donated by Rude Burger, Doc’s Downtown, Bluepoint Hospitalit­y, Chili’s and the Spaghetti Factory. Chapter 570 thanks each of these sponsors for their support of its programs.

Loscomb said he looked forward to enjoying the hospitalit­y of each of the donors.

Chapter 570 awards scholarshi­ps each year to outstandin­g students who are descendant­s of Purple Heart recipients.

Delmarva Chapter 570 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is one link in the family of Purple Heart chapters, the only Congressio­nally Chartered organizati­on for wounded veterans. Meetings are held the second Tuesday every month at the Easton VFW, 6:30 p.m.
