January school board meeting rescheduled
DENTON — Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, the Jan. 4 Caroline County Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the public may not attend in person; however, the meeting will be live-streamed to the public, Presenters may participate only when their agenda item is under discussion. These restrictions have been re-instituted in order to achieve the school system goals of keeping students and staff healthy and in school, and keeping classrooms and buildings open.
The regular board meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. only for the purpose of voting to close its meeting pursuant to state government under the Open Meetings Act (General Provisions Article 3-305 (1)) for the following reasons: (1) to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom this public body has jurisdiction; any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals; and to perform an administrative function.
The public portion of the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. when the Board reconvenes in public session.
