Dave and Gemma (Max Green­field, Beth Behrs) pull out all the stops with their elab­o­rate plans to throw an un­for­get­table birth­day party for young Grover (Hank Greenspan) as he turns 7 in the new episode “Wel­come to Grover’s Birth­day.” When all that prepa­ra­tion goes off the rails, though, Mal­colm and Marty (Sheaun Mckin­ney, Mar­cel Spears) are quick to step up with a so­lu­tion. Mean­while, Calvin’s (Cedric the En­ter­tainer) un­for­tu­nate choice of gift sends some­one to the hos­pi­tal. Tichina Arnold also stars.

Mag­num and Hig­gins (Jay Her­nan­dez, Perdita Weeks) are un­der­stand­ably shaken when one of her for­mer MI6 col­leagues abruptly turns up nurs­ing a fresh gun­shot wound in the new episode “Day of the Viper.” They’re even more alarmed, how­ever, by the news he has to de­liver: The as­sas­sin who killed Hig­gins’ true love has resur­faced on Oahu. While he and Hig­gins spring into ac­tion, Mag­num asks Rick (Zachary Knighton) to take over a case, which un­for­tu­nately soon goes side­ways. Ian Pryce guest stars.

Based on nov­el­ist Justin Cronin’s best-sell­ing tril­ogy, this thriller se­ries fo­cuses on a se­cret med­i­cal fa­cil­ity where sci­en­tists are ex­per­i­ment­ing with a dan­ger­ous virus that could lead to the cure for all dis­ease but also has the po­ten­tial to wipe out all hu­man life. Saniyya Sid­ney (“Fences”) and Markpaul Gos­se­laar (“Franklin & Bash”) star; Jamie Mcshane, Em­manuelle Chriqui and Henry Ian Cu­sick also are fea­tured. Film­maker Ri­d­ley Scott is among the ex­ec­u­tive pro­duc­ers.
