COLUMBIA – Fu­neral ser­vices for Mr. Sa­muel Henry Green, Sr. will be held Satur­day 11:00 a.m. (view­ing 10:00 a.m.) at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, with burial to fol­low in the church ceme­tery. Pub­lic view­ing will be held to­day be­gin­ning at 3:00 p.m. at the Leevy’s Fu­neral Home, Tay­lor Street Chapel.

Mr. Green was ed­u­cated in the pub­lic schools in Rich­land County. At an early age, he en­listed into and proudly served in the United States Army serv­ing in Korea. He was the owner and op­er­a­tor of Sam’s Gro­cery in the His­toric District of Val­ley Park for over 40 years.

Mr. Sa­muel Henry Green, Sr. leaves to mourn his pass­ing: sons, Sa­muel (Mar­cia) Green, Jr., Steve Mack, Stan­ley Green, Quincy (Leslie) Good­win, and Cleve­land Hall­man; daugh­ters, Made­line Green, Sheena Spears, De­bra Mack, and Mary Wash­ing­ton; broth­ers, James Al­bert (Julie) Green and Julius Green; sis­ters, Hen­ri­etta Mack and Katie (James) Ar­mor; a host of grand­chil­dren, great- grand­chil­dren, other rel­a­tives, and friends.
