The team also avoided arbitration with shortstop Xander Bogaerts ($12 million), outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. ($8.55 million), allpurpose player Brock Holt ($3.6 million), pitchers Matt Barnes ($1.6 million), Eduardo Rodriguez ($4.3 million) and Brandon Workman ($1.2 million) and catchers Sandy Leon ($2.5 million) and Blake Swihart ($910,000).
Braves: The team agreed to one-year deals to avoid arbitration with All-Star right-hander Mike Foltynewicz ($5.5 million), right-hander Kevin Gausman ($9.35 million), relievers Sam Freeman ($1.6 million), Arodys Vizcaino ($4.8 million) and Dan Winkler ($1.6 million), infielder Charlie Cul- berson ($1.4 million) and outfielder Adam Duvall ($2.9 million).
Yankees: Gold Glove-winning free-agent second baseman D.J. LeMahieu and the Yankees have agreed to a $24 million, two-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. The deal would appear to eliminate New York as a destination for Manny Machado.
