Red Sox: AL MVP Mookie Betts agreed to a one-year con­tract for $20 mil­lion – a $9.5 mil­lion raise – to avoid ar­bi­tra­tion. The team also avoided ar­bi­tra­tion with short­stop Xan­der Bo­gaerts ($12 mil­lion), out­fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. ($8.55 mil­lion), allpur­pose player Brock Holt ($3.6 mil­lion), pitch­ers Matt Barnes ($1.6 mil­lion), Ed­uardo Ro­driguez ($4.3 mil­lion) and Bran­don Work­man ($1.2 mil­lion) and catch­ers Sandy Leon ($2.5 mil­lion) and Blake Swi­hart ($910,000).

Braves: The team agreed to one-year deals to avoid ar­bi­tra­tion with All-Star right-han­der Mike Foltynewicz ($5.5 mil­lion), right-han­der Kevin Gaus­man ($9.35 mil­lion), re­liev­ers Sam Free­man ($1.6 mil­lion), Arodys Viz­caino ($4.8 mil­lion) and Dan Win­kler ($1.6 mil­lion), in­fielder Char­lie Cul- berson ($1.4 mil­lion) and out­fielder Adam Du­vall ($2.9 mil­lion).

Yan­kees: Gold Glove-win­ning free-agent se­cond base­man D.J. LeMahieu and the Yan­kees have agreed to a $24 mil­lion, two-year con­tract, a per­son fa­mil­iar with the ne­go­ti­a­tions told The As­so­ci­ated Press. The deal would ap­pear to elim­i­nate New York as a des­ti­na­tion for Manny Machado.

● The Yan­kees also signed out­fielder Aaron Hicks to a $6 mil­lion, one-year con­tract.
