Dracut pedestrian hit by SUV still hospitalized
DRACUT » A pedestrian hit by an SUV outside Dunkin’ on Lakeview Avenue is still being treated for serious injuries, according to Police Sgt. Jon Gosselin.
The 77-year-old Dracut woman who allegedly struck the man in a Lexus RX 350 stayed on scene after the crash.
Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be involved in the accident, according to a John Guilfoil Public Relations news release.
An off-duty police officer and off-duty firefighter performed CPR on the victim until emergency crews responded. The victim was transported to a Lowell-area hospital before he was flown by medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center.
Fast food restaurant opens in Lowell
LOWELL » Food Shines, specializing in American fast food, will celebrate its opening at 277 Pawtucket Blvd. with a ribbon-cutting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

LOWELL » Support hunger relief at the 10th annual Greater Lowell Empty Bowl Event on Jan. 26. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Living Waters Center of Hope on Kirk Street.
Pick from a selection of hand-crafted pottery bowls made by local artists and sample soups from sponsors. Then take the bowl home “as an unspoken reminder that somewhere someone’s bowl is empty,” according to an event flyer.
