Chelmsford Business Association helps food bank
The Merrimack Valley Food Bank recently received a $1,000 donation from the Chelmsford Business Association to address food insecurity in the Merrimack Valley and beyond.
The donation was presented to Amy Pessia, executive director of the food bank, at the group’s recent annual holiday dinner at Princeton Station in Chelmsford. It is part of a decades- long annual donation that has included nonperishable donations of money and nonperishable food.
In presenting the donation, John Harrington, executive director of the Chelmsford Business Association, said, “We are proud to support the Merrimack Valley Food Bank in its mission to fight hunger in the region.”
“We appreciate the dedication of the Chelmsford Business Association to its members, and for choosing to donate to the Food Bank so our neighbors can get nutritious food, in Chelmsford and in places where CBA members, their customers and employees live and work,” Pessia said.
The mission of the Merrimack Valley Food Bank is to provide adequate nutrition and freedom from hunger. The food bank’s programs currently serve 64,000 people monthly in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
