Signed Ovechkin stick up for grabs in Lowell raffle

-

A hockey stick signed by Washington Capitals star forward Alex Ovechkin is being raffled off as a fundraiser to benefit the Lowell High boys hockey team.

Red Raiders senior Owen Goulette contacted Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis, a former Lowell resident, and asked if he would donate an autographed item for auction to benefit the team.

Leonsis responded to the request by donating an autographed Ovechkin stick that comes with an authentication certificate.

Tickets are $20 apiece and can be purchased at Lowell High’s home games at the Tsongas Center. The Red Raiders’ final two home games are against Dracut/tyngsboro this evening at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 9, against Haverhill at 3 p.m.

The winner will be drawn at the Red Raiders’ final home game on Feb. 9.
