RAMS SKATE TO EASY WIN

JJ Thibert netted 4 goals to help the Shawsheen Tech boys hockey team cruise to a 9-1 victory over Nashoba Tech/greater Lowell Tech on Wednesday.

Anthony Papa and Aidan Sullivan each had a goal and 2 assists, while Nate Silva and Sean Murphy each dished out 3 assists.

Brady Darcey added a pair of goals for the Rams, who improved to 7-5 (6-1 CAC).

It was a 1-1 game after two periods and then host Xaverian took control.

Bobby Turner had the lone Chelmsford (2- 8-1) goal, assisted by Tommy Hopkins and Mike Regan.

Lions’ goalie Daniel Foley was excellent, making 45 saves.

Assabet scored three third-period goals to beat Littleton/bromfield. The last goal was an empty netter.

Ben Canfield made 31 saves in the loss.

Wrestling

The Lions (8-4, 3-2 MVC) earned a big win over a tough Tewksbury squad.

Evan Goodall (152 pounds), Matt Kilmartin (160), Jeremy Ware (195), Isaiah Adams (106), Evan Kinney (113), Patrick Hughes (126), Jack Walsh (132) and Anthony Hubbard (138) picked up victories for CHS.

For the Redmen, Pat Fleming (170), Ryan Day (182), Nick Wilson (220), Dylan Chandler (285), Jack Callahan (120) and Connor Charren (145) had wins.

Westford got wins from Dan Hickey (106), Ryan Walsh (126), John Clark (152), Rory Sullivan (160), Will Rudiman (182) and Adam Ohanian (195).

Tyngsboro swept a tri-meet, beating Monty Tech (42-12) and Nashoba Tech (46-18).

Shaun Mccarty(126), Josh Ducharme (138), Matt Tyros (145), Matt Beauchesne (152), JT Shaffer (160), Mark Thomas (170), Zach Souza (182), Dan Paulauskas (220) and Colin Michalik (285) all had two wins on the day.

Boys basketball

The Hawks fell behind early and were never able to recover.

Riley Lennon had 23 points in defeat. Colin O’neill had 8 points and played strong defense for Innovation.

The Crusaders dropped to 8-3 after this nonconfere­nce loss.

Boys track

The Tigers made it look easy, beating Narraganse­tt, 90- 0, and Clinton, 72-19.

Littleton finished the season at a perfect 6- 0.

Girls swimming

The Grey Ghosts improved to 8- 0 as Halle Moore won the 500 free (5:33.41) and the 50 free (26.62).

Cara Dominici (200 IM, 2:17.86), Lizzy Durgin (diving, 258.05), Emily Blagg (100 fly, 1:06.29), Michaela Martin (100 free, 54.99), Sophia Esteves (100 back, 1:06.61) and Kylie Hoar (100 breast, 1:17.91) also won events.

Westford also captured the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Boys swimming

Sam Granger won the 100 fly (59.14) and the 100 backstroke (1:00.05) to lead Westford (8-1).

Aedan Curtin (200 free, 2:00.55), Andrew Dibiasio (200 IM, 2:18.10), Quinn Schwab (50 free, 24.37), Jonah Coulter (diving, 178.95), Bryce Fan (100 free, 51.77), Alex Jefferson (500 free, 5:40.66) and Fletcher Zeng (100 breast, 1:09.43) also picked up wins.

The Grey Ghosts swept the relays as well.

Gymnastics

Sara Bourdelais won the floor with a score of 9.35, while Cady Serrano took second in the bars (9.2), beam (9.2) and all-around (35.95).
