Students of the month
of Shirley, daughter of Bradley Caldbeck and Rebecca Boucher, is a senior in the Design & Visual Communications program. She is a high-honors student and has been inducted into both the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. She has been dancing competitively for 10 years, and was accepted to Fitchburg State University to study graphic design with a minor in photography. Savannah was nominated by English teacher Bruce Sullivan, who wrote: “Savannah, a senior who takes a mix of very rigorous Advanced Placement and honors classes, is an intelligent, caring, skillful, knowledgeable and ethical student. She writes at a high college level, and her literary analysis is already at an advanced level. Her research paper on ‘Social Media and the Rise of Fast Fashion’ is both timely and informative. She is also a kind and empathetic student who cares about others.” annual Massachusetts Vocational Association’s Non-traditional Student Award and was accepted to Umass Lowell to study mechanical engineering. Sarah was nominated by Cosmetology instructor Sayda Betsold, who wrote: “Sarah showed professionalism, attention to detail and a willingness to help a teacher at the drop of a hat. I was in search of a student who could create a sign for Cosmetology, and the Engineering instructor sent Sarah. She came right over, asked for specifications and created a mock-up. The proof came out perfect, and I had the requested letter for the sign in my hands the very next day. She was enthusiastic and worked hard to get everything done on time and to my liking.”
Athletes of the Month
of Westford, daughter of James Kane and Kerry Lane, is a sophomore spring track standout in the high jump, triple jump, 100-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter run for the Vikings. She is in the Automotive Technology program and has been selected to serve a freshman mentor for next year, helping incoming students acclimate themselves to their new school.
