‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ showing

TEWKSBURY — Enjoy a free, PG-13 screening of the action-adventure film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'” as part of the town’s Black History Month series on Thursday, Feb. 23, 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Tewksbury Memorial High School’s Mcgrath Performanc­e Center, 320 Pleasant St.

The film tells the story of the people of Wakanda as they fight to protect their homeland while mourning King T’challa, and stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Angela Bassett. Empower leadership workshop

LOWELL — Applicatio­ns are due Friday, Feb. 24, for the “Empower: Building Leaders, Strengthen­ing Communitie­s” program by Lowell Alliance and Coalition for a Better Acre.

Empower is a nine-week, interactiv­e program held Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m., starting on March 30 and ending on May 25, at 97 Central St. #302. The series will provide participan­ts with the knowledge, skills and resources to create and lead change at the grassroots and community level. Participan­ts will also have the opportunit­y to expand personal and profession­al networks and work with activists from around the city and region. Workshop topics will include: leadership and organizati­onal skills, how City Hall works and how to make it work for you, understand­ing and leveraging community resources, organizing for change and project planning and implementa­tion.

Black History Month jazz brunch at CCA

CHELMSFORD — The Chelmsford Center for the Arts and Chelmsford’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee presents an all-ages “Soul on a Saturday” jazz brunch on Feb. 25 at noon, in the CCA’S Veteran’s Memorial Hall Auditorium, at 1A North Road. The live entertainm­ent features Steve Hunt, piano; Ron Mahdi, bass; Yoron Israel, drums; Arthur Bakopolus, saxophone; and guest speaker Fred Woodard. The soul food brunch is provided by Lowell’s Red’s Kitchen and Catering. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for seniors 60 and older, and $15 for students. Veterans info session at City Hall

LOWELL — Learn about the PACT Act, which expands U.S. Department of

Veterans Affairs health care and benefits, during an informatio­n session on Thursday, March 2, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Reception Room at City Hall, located at 375 Merrimack St.

Representa­tives from the Boston and Lowell VA offices will answer questions about burn pits, Agent Orange exposure and other toxic substances and provide an onsite disability claims clinic.
