BOYNTON BEACH, FL - George B. O’dea, 71, passed away February 14, 2023, at Avante Rehabilita­tion Center in Lake Worth, Florida. He was born on May 22, 1951 in Lowell, Massachuse­tts, to Eileen Gertrude (Stowell) O’dea and James P. O’dea. He spent his childhood years in Chelmsford, MA, and graduated from Chelmsford High School. George attended Northeaste­rn University and earned his degree as a Registered Nurse. He specialize­d in chemical dependency and worked at the VA Hospital in Bedford, MA. In 1981,

George relocated to West Palm Beach, FL and worked at the Hanley Hazelden Center, helping patients in recovery until retiring from full time employment at the age of 50 due to health issues.

George was a generous and kind hearted man who was a good friend to many. He was a master of sarcasm and always enjoyed a good laugh. George was an avid movie watcher, dedicated music lover and concert goer. He was also a talented musician, and especially enjoyed playing the guitar which he continued to enjoy throughout his life. New England always held a special place in his heart, and he enjoyed spending time at Hampton Beach, NH with family and friends.

George will be remembered by his partner, Mayra Bagnoli and her son Lucas of Wellington, FL; his son, Christophe­r G. O’dea and partner Julie Littlefiel­d, of Dracut, MA; his brother Paul O’dea and his wife Lori, of Corpus Christi, TX, brother Micheal O’dea and his wife Kathleen of Cranston, RI; and many nieces and nephews. George was predecease­d by his parents; his son, Sean P. O’dea, daughter Blair D. O’dea, of Royal Palm Beach, FL; and his sister Catherine O’dea, of Gloucester, MA; and his infant brother James D. O’dea.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL, and Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell, MA.
