Day of service
LOWELL — On Saturday, more than 500 Rotary clubs and 14,000 Rotarians across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York, plus the countries of Bermuda and Brazil, volunteered in their communities for a Rotary Day of Service.
The members of the Rotary Club of Lowell, accompanied by City Councilor Wayne Jenness, gathered at Rotary Club Park on Richmond Avenue to clean up and refurbish the park. The club previously met with the Lowell Litter Krewe on April 8 to clean up the park, and followed up on May 20 to finish the cleaning and to repair and paint the park sign. The park includes grassy areas, a skateboard area, a small jungle gym and is next to the Rotary Park Community Garden. The motto of Rotary is “Service Above Self.”
