Pride flag raising

LOWELL — In addition to the flags customaril­y flown at JFK Plaza, the city commemorat­es flags from many countries during the year. On Friday, June 2, at noon, the public is invited to a flag-raising for Pride Month. The outdoor event is held in front of City Hall, 375 Merrimack St. For a list of flag-raising dates, visit bit.ly/3l4y4cc. Veterans job fair

The Disabled American Veterans and Recruitmil­itary co-host co-host the National Logistics Virtual Veterans Job Fair, Tuesday, June 6, from noon to 4 p.m. The event is free to veterans, their spouses, active-duty military personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserve. More than 30 employers, representi­ng a range of industries will be online with career opportunit­ies from entry level to senior management. In addition to employment assistance, veterans can utilize career counseling and resume assistance, network with fellow veterans and military personnel, and get support with their Department

Wildlife program

GROTON — The public is invited to attend “Wild Inside: Fishers, Beavers, and Bears,” Wednesday, June 7, at 7 to 8:30 p.m., NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main St.

Attendees will learn about the physical and behavioral adaptation­s of the fisher, the North American beaver and the black bear during the discussion with a Nashua River Watershed Associatio­n educator/naturalist.

Grants for womenbased organizati­ons

The Women Working Wonders Fund supports programs that empower women and girls to effect positive change in the community. Founded in 2004, and funded by women, the Women Working Wonders Fund awards grants each year to nonprofit organizati­ons whose programs/projects: assist women in transition, provide leadership developmen­t for women and girls, contribute to the beautifica­tion of the environmen­t to benefit women and girls.

This year, the Women Working Wonders Fund will award five grants at $10,000 each to program/ projects that impact the lives of women and girls while advancing the organizati­on’s mission.
