HUDSON, NH - Gregory “Greg” Thomas Blute, age 46, a resident of Hudson, NH passed away on May 26, 2023 doing what he loved most, fishing off the coast of Maine.

He was born in Lowell on December 7, 1976 and was the loving husband of Krysten L. Diefendorf-blute for the past 8 years. He was the son of James W. Blute and Jacqueline R.

Fleury (Blute) Oliveria.

He graduated from Greater Lowell Technical High School in 1995 and was employed as an Account Manager in New England for Linc Systems, Inc. His job gave him the ability to stop and fish at various coastal locations along the way. Greg also enjoyed fishing on Martha’s Vineyard during his annual summer trip to Edgartown with his wife and her family. He spent many weekends snowmobiling at his brother’s camp in Freedom, NH where he also enjoyed the family’s annual Freedomfest weekend singing and playing music along with everyone. Woodworking and photographing beautiful sunrises and sunsets were also two of his favorite hobbies. He had three nieces and a nephew that he treated and loved like his own. He was a fierce lover of animals and had a special place in his heart for his cats Milo and Tobi. Greg would strike up a conversation with anyone and never miss an opportunity to hear their story, especially a veteran! He would stop anything and everything to be there for his family or a friend. He will be truly missed and forever touched by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Greg is survived by his brother, James J. Blute and his wife Nicky of Lowell and their children, Bella and Ben; his sister, Sandy Koch and her husband Carl and their daughters, Helena (his goddaughter) and Jenna; his mother-in-law, Linda Diefendorf of York, ME and her friend Thomas Sweeney of Lowell; his father-in-law, Jack Diefendorf of Lowell and his partner Holly Small of Hudson, NH; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
