MVC RELEASES AWARD WINNERS FOR SPRING

All-conference selections from the league are announced

LOWELL >> The Merrimack Valley Conference on Friday released its all-conference teams, as well as its major award winners, for softball, baseball, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys tennis, girls tennis and boys volleyball.

Softball

Tewksbury senior Samantha Ryan is the Div. 2 Player of the Year. Billerica’s Patti Higgins is the Div. 1 co-coach of the Year with Central Catholic’s Stacy Ciccolo, and Tewksbury’s Brittney Souza is the Div. 1 Coach of the Year.

The Rebecca Solomon Sportsmans­hip Award winner is Billerica senior Samantha Gaona.

Five local players earned firstteam all-conference honors: Billerica seniors Naomi Boldebuck and Gaona; Chelmsford senior Mikayla Alto; Dracut senior Ally Lussier; and Lowell junior Alanna Carbonneau.

Named second-team all-conference are Billerica seniors Kayelyn Sibert and Olivia Bento; Chelmsford senior Adrianna Capozzi; Dracut sophomore Mckenzie Lussier and junior Gabby Coffey; Lowell freshman Kaitlyn Van and senior Abigail Grenier; and Tewksbury juniors Rebecca Harris, Alyssa Adams, Whitney Gigante and Avery Della Piana, and sophomore Abigail Tower.

Boys volleyball

League champion Lowell swept the major award winners, as junior Cody Fitzpatric­k was named Player of the Year and Paul Mccarthy earned Coach of the Year honors.

Selected first-team all-conference are Billerica junior Cole Dillon; Chelmsford seniors Dominick Flores and Victor Lam; and Lowell senior Eddie Djatcha and junior Tyrell Lout.

Picked second-team all-conference are Billerica junior Logan Mueller, and seniors Aiden

Le and Ethan Cliff; Chelmsford junior Zach Spengler and sophomore Liam Quinn; Dracut junior Audom Mok; and Lowell juniors Ceazar Joseph and Ayden Ruom, and senior Eric Nguyen.

Boys lacrosse

Scottie Einarson of Billerica is the Div. 1 Player of the Year and

of Dracut is the Div. 2 Player of the Year.

Netting Coach of the Year honors is Sean Wright of Chelmsford for Div. 1 and Paul Ganley of Dracut for Div. 2.

Making first-team all-conference are Einarson, Aidan Gibbons, Kam Tremblay, Kyle Breitwiese­r, Jason Martin and Nick Magliozzi of Billerica; Desmarais, Charlie Maraganis and Owen French of Dracut; and Al Lafreniere, Manny Marshall, Dan Craig and Ryan Blagg of Chelmsford.

Picked for the second-team all-conference squad are Timin Carter, Colby Downer and Joe Wilkie of Dracut; Jack Walsh and Joe Tays of Chelmsford; and Alec Gualtieri, Chris Hunt and Connor Gibson of Billerica.

Girls lacrosse

The Div. 2 Player of the Year is Tewksbury senior Jamie Constantin­o. The Div. 1 co-goalie of the Year is Chelmsford senior Madelin Dunbar.

Chelmsford’s Ashley Rokas was named Div. 1 Coach of the Year. Tewksbury was selected as the Sportsmans­hip Award winner.

Local players who made firstteam all-conference are Billerica sophomore Sara Macleod; Chelmsford seniors Amelia Kelley, Tori Apostolake­s and Grace Campo, junior Taija Bell and sophomore Jillian Martin;

Picked second-team all-conference are Billerica junior Audrey Toce and sophomore Mia Barros; Chelmsford seniors Olivia Hall, Maggie Loeber and Remore Serra; Dracut freshman Ava O’brien; Lowell junior Sara Skaff; and Tewksbury sophomore Emily Picher.

Boys tennis

Selected as the Coach of the Year in Div. 1 is Kristina Kea of Chelmsford and Brian Sullivan of Billerica is the Div. 2 Coach of the Year.

Locals selected to the Div. 1 second-team all-conference squad from Chelmsford are senior Andrew Peterson at No. 1 singles, junior Milan Peherea at No. 2 singles, the No. 1 doubles team of juniors Garrett Russell and Anikait Singh, and the No. 2 doubles team of juniors Om Angadi and Sayomik Sett.

Named to the Div. 2 secondteam all-conference team are Billerica sophomore Abhinaba Goswami at No. 1 singles and Tewksbury

senior Danny Franklin at No. 2 singles.

Girls tennis

Jen Carey of Lowell was named the Div. 2 Coach of the Year. The Sportsmans­hip Award went to Lowell’s No. 1 doubles team of senior Audrey Djatcha and sophomore Erin Nji.

Named to the Div. 1 second-team all-conference squad was Chelmsford senior Jamie Garber at No. 1 singles. Making the Div. 2 second-team all-conference team was Tewksbury junior Renuka Late at No. 1 singles.

Baseball

Chelmsford sophomore Matt

Stuart was named the Div. 2 Player of the Year and Chelmsford’s Lou Distasi is the Div. 2 Coach of the Year.

Named to the all-conference first-team are Stuart and senior Braydon Gray of Chelmsford; Lowell senior Declan Silva; Billerica sophomore Nolan Dawson; Dracut senior Andrew Chenevert; and Tewksbury senior Dylan Paulding.

Locals selected to the all-conference second-team are Billerica junior Gus O’gara and senior Austin Brune; Chelmsford senior Jack Lane and junior Grant Englehardt; Dracut junior Sal D’amico; Lowell senior Jayden Villanueva; and Tewksbury sophomore Cameron Kingston.
