Elizabeth “Beth” Beaton

LOWELL - Elizabeth Ann Hope Mcgarvey Beaton formerly of Chelmsford, MA and Kennebunk, ME, passed away peacefully on September 30th at the age of 81 in West Haven, CT. She was born in Lowell, MA and was the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Hope. After graduating from Chelmsford High School in 1959, Beth worked as an LPN at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lowell, MA until her retirement when she moved from Chelmsford to Kennebunk, ME where she had vacationed as a child and loved the Maine coast. She worked as an ombudsman for the State of Maine Elderly Services for several years. She was also a volunteer at the Budget Box in Kennebunk, ME. Beth was an active Avon Lady for 40 years. In 2022, she moved to Connecticut to be closer to her son, David (HFD) and wife, Elizabeth and their children, Michael and Sydney, and resided at Seacrest Retirement Center for the last 14 months where she made many friends and connections. Beth was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved watching the games with her devoted son. Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were her pride and joy. In addition to her son and his family, she leaves behind son Keith Mcgarvey of California, granddaughter, Jaime (Mcgarvey) Vigeant of New Hampshire and her husband, Keith, and their children, Emma and Tyler and granddaughter, Jennifer (Mcgarvey) Martin of Vermont. She was predeceased by her parents and son, James R. Mcgarvey. Thank you to the staff at Seacrest Retirement Center for supporting Beth and her family and providing a wonderful environment for lasting memories.

The hours for visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green, with a Funeral Service at 7pm. Interment will be private in the family plot in Lowell, MA.
