LOWELL >> What started as an argument between neighbors over loud music on Saturday afternoon in the Acre escalated into an alleged knife attack.

A Lowell Police report states Milciades Ramirez-romon, 34, of Lowell, faces several charges after he allegedly brandished two knives during the confrontation on Bowers Street that ended up turning bloody.

Police were first called to the multi-family home on Bowers

Street just before 12:50 p.m. for reports of a violent altercation between neighbors. The police report said officers arrived to find “a very chaotic scene,” with several people standing outside “yelling at one another, while those individuals had blood spattered on their persons.”

A 55-year-old woman who called police explained to officers on scene that she had an ongoing issue with her downstairs neighbors — identified as Ramirez-romon and his 39-yearold girlfriend — blasting loud music. The irritated woman, fed up with the booming music, told police she had gone downstairs to confront her neighbor, but was ignored when she knocked on the door.

After the woman returned to her apartment, she told police the 39-year-old neighbor came upstairs and banged on her door. The woman said her teenage granddaughter answered, and the three proceeded to argue about the music.

The woman told police that her neighbor made the argument physical by slapping her granddaughter in the face. A scuffle between the pair ensued. The police report states the woman claimed as she attempted to intervene, Ramirez-romon became involved, grabbing “a wooden door side panel” and striking the grandmother “on the top of the head numerous times.”

The woman told police the confrontation subsided and all four returned to their respective apartments. According to the 55-yearold woman’s account, the fighting was not over for long, as her granddaughter and the woman downstairs again became involved in a physical altercation outside the residence. She said once again, Ramirez-romon became involved, but this time he was brandishing a knife in both hands.

According to the police report, the woman said Ramirez-romon slashed at her as she lifted her arm in a defensive manner, causing cuts to her hand. Her 33-year-old son then arrived at the scene and allegedly attacked Ramirez-romon, punching him several times and striking him with a hammer.

The police report states it

was around this time that officers arrived, and Ramirez-romon fled.

Police said they were able to track him down to a nearby multi-family residence on Fletcher Street. According to the police report, Ramirez-romon allegedly broke into a second-floor apartment, where police said he asked the resident for help. He then went to a first-floor apartment in the same building.

Police said officers were able to track Ramirez-romon down by following a trail of blood. According to

police, he was found hiding under a bed.

Ramirez-romon was arrested, before being transported to a local hospital for an injury to his right hand, police said.

In a conversation with the Sun on Thursday, the 55-year-old alleged victim said she and her son were also hospitalized for injuries to their hands, which she said were caused during Ramirez-romon’s alleged knife attack. She added her son required stitches.

At the time of his arrest, court documents show Ramirez-romon already had drug possession and distribution charges pending in Lowell District Court

following two separate incidents within the last six months.

On Aug. 2, police reports state detectives monitoring the Back Central neighborhood observed Ramirez-romon involved in alleged hand-to-hand drug transactions along the sidewalk in the 200 block of Middlesex St.

According to police, when detectives — with badges, firearms and radios visible — approached Ramirez-romon, he was in the process of placing a “rock like substance” into a pipe. A male standing next to Ramirez-romon was allegedly attempting to hand him a $5 bill. Police said the male became argumentative

when asked by the detectives to walk away.

“The male was initially argumentative with me and stated he was trying to get a $5 hit of crack,” the detective said in the report. “I again verbally announced that we were the police and this male then began to state that ‘he did nothing wrong!’ referring to Ramirez.”

According to the report, while searching Ramirez-romon, detectives discovered separate baggies of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and a single oxycodone pill, as well as $259 cash.

Ramirez-romon was charged with distribution of a Class B drug, possession to distribute a Class B

drug, and possession of a Class A drug.

On Jan. 17, police reports state officers allegedly caught Ramirez-romon again in Back Central, this time with seven baggies of suspected fentanyl, weighing a total of 3.5 grams, and 10 baggies of crack cocaine, weighing a total of 2.2 grams, and $78 cash.

For this incident, Ramirez-romon was charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, and possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute.

For his latest offense, Ramirez-romon’s was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday. He is charged with three counts

of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of breaking and entering for a misdemeanor, and a single count of vandalizing property.

A motion filed on Monday by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office to revoke Ramirez-romon’s order of pretrial release from his previous charges and to order him to serve pretrial detention was allowed.

Ramirez-romon is slated to return to court on all charges on Feb. 21.

His attorney, Erich Bryant, was not immediately available for comment.
