CHELMSFORD - SUNDQUIST, Edith C., age 88, of Chelmsford, passed away on March 25, 2024. Born in Boston in 1935 to the late Sixten and Hilda Setterstro­m, Edith spent her childhood in Dorchester.

She met her future husband, Robert, at a Swedish-american dance in Boston. They married in 1956. She and Robert moved to Chelmsford in 1958 and they made Chelmsford their home for the rest of their lives. They were married for 67 years. Robert predecease­d Edith in October

2023.

She is survived by two children, Paul Sundquist and Alan Sundquist. Another son, Mark, passed away in 1963. Edith has three grandchild­ren,

Josh Sundquist, Kimberly Eliasen, and Nicholas Sundquist; and two great grandchild­ren, Ryder Sundquist and Reese Sundquist.

She was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester, from which she graduated second in her class. She worked in the home for many years, then ran her own successful cleaning products business for years until retirement. Edith was known as an excellent card player, had a terrific sense of humor, and was a great friend to many people. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford for over sixty years, and for years worked with the Summer Church School program. Edith was a past President of the Swedish-american Club in Boston and very involved in Santa Lucia celebratio­ns for many years.

Edith loved traveling and especially loved trips to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. She loved being with family and vacationed on Lake Winnipesau­kee for over fifty years. Edith enjoyed sports and particular­ly loved watching her sons and grandchild­ren compete. She and Robert traveled extensivel­y to spectate at family sporting events. Edith was a voracious reader with a deep interest in politics. She was defined by her intellect, work ethic, and discipline.

Edith will be greatly missed as a friend, greatgrand­mother, grandmothe­r, mother, and wife.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday,

April 2, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen

St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Rd., CHELMSFORD. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will follow at 1pm at Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter St., NORWOOD. KINDLY GATHER
