MUR­RELLS IN­LET Molly Hessert Oberst, 80, of Mur­rells In­let, died Thurs­day, Nov. 29, at Em­brace Hospice af­ter an ill­ness.

Mrs. Oberst was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Philadel­phia, Pa., a daugh­ter of the late George Wal­ter Hessert and Ann Hessert Cary. She grew up in Calvert County, Md., and lived most her adult life in Clin­ton, Md. She was em­ployed for many years by the De­part­ment of Health and Hu­man Ser­vices in­Wash­ing­ton, D.C., be­fore re­tir­ing in Mur­rells In­let in 1997.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Mrs. Oberst was pre­de­ceased by her hus­band, Robert F. Oberst, her brother George “Smokey” Hessert and her sis­ter Jo Ann Cooke.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ters Vir­ginia “Gin­ger” Pad­dack and her hus­band Al­lan of Gran­bury, Texas, and Vicki Bell and her hus­band Doug of Con­way; her sis­ters Anna King of Brandy­wine, Md., Pauline Dick­ens of Mur­rells In­let, Eve­lyn Lyons of Queen­stown, Md., and Ber­nadette Ben­son of La Plata, Md.; her grand­son Chris­tian Pad­dock; and many nieces neph­ews across the coun­try. Mrs. Oberst was also blessed with many good and car­ing friends.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held Mon­day, De­cem­ber 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Christ the Ser­vant Lutheran Church, 2105 E. High­way 501 in Con­way. Pas­tor Joan Schef er of ciat­ing. The fam­ily will re­ceive vis­i­tors one hour prior to the ser­vice at the church. In lieu of ow­ers, memo­ri­als­may be sent to the char­ity of one’s choice.
