Ravens RB Collins out for season
Ravens running back Alex Collins was placed on injured reserve Saturday, ending a disappointing season for one of the NFL’s breakout stars of 2017.
Bothered by an ailing knee earlier this season, Collins was inactive for the Ravens’ win last Sunday against the Raiders with a foot injury. He did not practice Wednesday, was limited Thursday and was a full participant Friday, seemingly progressing toward a return to action.
Raiders: The Raiders activated defensive tackle Justin Ellis off the injured reserve list. The Raiders waived offensive lineman Denver Kirkland to make room on the roster.
Ellis injured his foot in the season opener against the Rams. He has played 60 games in his career with 134 tackles.
Titans: The Titans signed defensive back Joshua Kalu off their practice squad after waiving defensive back Kenneth Durden.
The 6-foot, 203-pound Kalu was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska, where he was a three-year starter at cornerback and safety. The Titans waived him after training camp, then signed him to their practice squad.
