2018: when the community came together

The Sun News (Sunday) - - Opinion -

Please allow me this opportunity to share some words of gratitude with all our neighbors in Horry County. This year has been full of many blessings, and we have seen our share of difficult times as well. But what I will remember most about 2018 is how the community came together to support and help each other. It seems that no matter what happens, people are always willing to come together, reach out to those in need and be a good neighbor.

It reminds me of the story Jesus shared in Luke 10, where even the most unlikely person can stop what they are doing, reach the one in need and make every effort to aid them. The Salvation Army has been proud to be of service in Horry County for over 70 years. And each year we strive to help our neighbors in need. This has been possible only by the grace of God and the outpouring of support from volunteers and donors. We are honored by your trust. May God bless you all.
