President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was making the following nominations:
William P. Barr, who
served as attorney general during the first Bush administration from 1991 to 1993, to return as head of the Justice Department.
Heather Nauert, the
chief State Department spokeswoman and former Fox News anchor, to be the next ambassador to the United Nations.
In addition, unnamed
sources say John Kelly, the White House chief of staff, is likely to leave his post soon. Nick Ayers, the vice president’s chief of staff, is seen as a leading candidate.
On Saturday, Trump is
expected to name Army Gen. Mark Milley to lead the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing Gen. Joseph Dunford Jr., who is due to step down next fall.
