John “Jack” Joseph Cav­is­ton Jr., age 86, of Murrells In­let, SC, died peace­fully at Kingston Nurs­ing Cen­ter, Con­way, SC on Jan­uary 9, 2019. Jack was the son of the late John and He­len Cav­is­ton of Car­bon­dale, PA.

Jack was pre­de­ceased by his wife of 60 years; Bar­bara, el­dest son, John J Cav­is­ton III and brother, Joseph Cav­is­ton. John is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Kevin Cav­is­ton (Beth) of West­ford, MA, Dorothy Scan­lon (Dwayne) of Clin­ton, CT, Ger­ard Cav­is­ton (Anas­ta­sia) and Mar­i­anne An­nun­zi­ato (Stephen) of Con­way, SC; grand­chil­dren, Robert Scan­lon, Melissa Scan­lon, Michael Cav­is­ton, Christina Cav­is­ton, Pa­trick Cav­is­ton and John An­nun­zi­ato; great grand­son, Jameson Scan­lon; and broth­ers, An­thony Cav­is­ton (Bar­bara) of New Port Richey, FL, Frank Cav­is­ton of Cam­bridge, MD.

Jack grad­u­ated from Ben­jamin Franklin High School in 1950 and then served in the United States Army dur­ing the Korean War. He was in the re­tail man­age­ment in­dus­try, start­ing with Wool­worths. He had been a mem­ber of the Lion’s club and Knights of Colum­bus. Jack’s fa­vorite role was be­ing a lov­ing hus­band, father, grand­fa­ther and avid fish­er­man.

The fam­ily will re­ceive friends from 4:30-6:30 PM Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 16, 2019 at Goldfinch Fu­neral Home, Beach Chapel Murrells In­let, SC. A fu­neral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thurs­day, Jan­uary 17, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Garden City.
