On Friday, February 12, 2021, Jose “Lupe” Alfaro, comical husband, reliable father, and awesome grandpa passed away at the age of 72 after a month-long battle with Covid.

Lupe was born on December 12, 1948 in Juarez, Chihuahua to Jose and Lucina Alfaro. He was a Vietnam Vet. He was drafted by the United States Army in 1969, where he learned the automotive mechanic trade. His career in the automotive industry spanned over 30 years. On June 16, 1979 he married Antonia. They raised two daughters and two sons.

Lupe was known to be a stoic person with an occasional fiery personalit­y. To his wife he was a jokester and to his kids he was their hero who was always there to pull them out of a jam. Lupe was adored by his grandchild­ren and enjoyed spending many hours playing games with them and catering to their imaginatio­ns. One thing was always certain he loved and cared for his family more than anything in this world.

Lupe was preceded in death by his father Jose. He is survived by his wife Antonia, his four children, Wendy (Manuel), Cyndi (Saul), Steven (Eduardo), and Tony (Christina), his mother Lucina, his six grandchild­ren, Victor, Daniel, Marco, Dahlylah, Arianna, and Dayleen, his five sisters Lina, Mary, Nellie, Lucy, Vicki, and Sandra, his one brother Frank, and 12 nieces and nephews. The Church Service is on Tuesday, March 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1215 S. Hamilton Blvd., Pomona, Ca. 91766 at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 444 E. Lexington Ave., Pomona, CA 91766. We ask please wear a face mask and practice social distance.
