CHAFFEY (3-1, 2-0) AT CLAREMONT (3-1, 2-0), 7P.M.
IE Varsity info: The San Antonio League championship will be at stake when these teams square off tonight. Chaffey is led on offense by senior running back Raymond Rodriguez, who has rushed for 700yards and eight touchdowns. Rodriguez has topped the 200-yard mark three times this season. Damian Tapia has added 208 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Senior Nekoa Gildernew leads the Tiger defense with 44tackles, including 15 in last week’s 12-0 win over Don Lugo. Claremont has a balanced offense, led by senior quarterback Ricky Murillo (591yards, six TDs) and sophomore running back Caden Campuzano (483 yards, eight TDs). Senior linebacker Simon Jansezian has racked up 50tackles for the Wolfpack.
MURRIETA VALLEY (3-1, 2-1) AT CHAPARRAL (3-1, 3-1), 7P.M.
IE Varsity info: Murrieta Valley and Chaparral have spilt their games over the past 16seasons, and Chaparral ended a five-game skid by beating the Nighthawks 30-27last season. Murrieta Valley’s high-scoring offense is led by junior quarterback Brandon Rose (1,082yards, nine TDs), senior running back DJ Watts (675yards, 11TDs) and sophomore receiver Tiger Bachmeier (27catches, 473 yards, five TDs). Chaparral has plenty of offensive firepower, as well, including sophomore quarterback Caron Tyler (728 yards, six passing TDs, four rushing TDs), junior running back Hunter Roddy (224 yards, seven TDs in two games) and senior receiver Tracy Dobbins (21catches, 415yards, three TDs).
RANCHO CUCAMONGA (2-0) AT ETIWANDA (3-0), 7P.M.
IE Varsity info: Rancho Cucamonga has won 10 straight games in this series, eight of those coming when Nick Baiz was at the helm. Baiz is now at Etiwanda and looking to lead the Eagles to their first victory over Rancho Cucamonga since 2009. Juniors Jordan Holmes and Xavier Washington split time at quarterback for Rancho Cucamonga and have thrown for 373yards and three touchdowns. Adrion Boyd has rushed for 265yards and two touchdowns. The Cougars have allowed only six points in two games. The defense is led by senior lineman Esaia Bogar and senior cornerback EJ Wash. Etiwanda’s offense is led by junior running back Jordan Williams.
WALNUT (2-1, 2-0) AT DIAMOND BAR (3-1, 2-0), 7P.M.
IE Varsity info: The Hacienda League championship is the prize for the winner of this game. The teams have played each season since 2004, and Diamond Bar has an 11-5edge in those games. Walnut’s defense is allowing only nine points per game this season. Twins Jacob and Matthew Mikkelson are two standouts for the Mustangs. Nathan Wong has scored four touchdowns, and Ruben Rivera has three touchdowns to lead the offensive attack. Diamond Bar is led on offense by junior running back Michael Gorbea, who has rushed for 487yards and three touchdowns. Seniors Jacob Friend and Jacoach Chennault lead the defense with 28tackles apiece.
SATURDAY
CITRUS HILL (3-1, 2-0) AT SAN JACINTO (3-1, 2-0), 10A.M.
IE Varsity info: The winner of Saturday morning’s showdown will capture the Mountain Pass League title. Citrus Hill leads the all-time series 12-2, but San Jacinto snapped a 12-game losing skid last season with a 20-14 victory over the Hawks. Citrus Hill sophomore quarterback Keon Gantt has become the focal point of the offense recently, and Gantt has thrown for 392yards and eight touchdowns over the past two games. IE Varsity info: These Fontana Unified School District programs will meet for the first time Saturday morning. Summit’s defense has been outstanding in three games, allowing only seven points per game. Junior linebacker Devean James racked up 131tackles last season and remains the leader of the defense. James also is the team’s top weapon on offense with 251yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. Jurupa Hills is led on offense by senior quarterback Patrick Ragan, who has thrown six touchdowns and rushed for three. Trayton Cooper is a threat as a runner and receiver, having gained 352total yards while scoring three touchdowns..
CAJON (4-0, 4-0) AT CITRUS VALLEY (3-1, 3-1), 5P.M.
IE Varsity info: Cajon has won 22straight Citrus Belt League games and already has clinched at least a share of the league title. Citrus
Valley can grab a share of the championship with a victory. The last team to beat Cajon in a CBL game was Redlands East Valley in 2016. That REV team was led by current Citrus Valley coach Kurt Bruich. Cajon’s offense is led by senior quarterback Trent Young (906 yards, nine TDs) and junior running back Freddy Fletcher (725yards, 10TDs). Senior linebacker Presley SnyderMontgomery has registered a team-high 45tackles. Citrus Valley quarterback Dylan Wheatley has thrown for 1,120 yards and 17touchdowns this season. Senior Ty’Jhon Belton has caught six touchdown passes, half of those coming in last week’s win over Beaumont. Sophomore Brockton Lium is another top receiver and also leads the defense with 26tackles.
